Quintano D. Downes, Co-Founder/President

Quintano D. Downes is Co-Founder and President  of Nexus Investment Consultants, a firm specializing in marketing, branding and business development for established and emerging managers along with broker-dealers and financial advisors. Mr. Downes role is to assist the CEO with firm wide management, strategic planning and implementation.

Mr. Downe's  ability to assess complex situations and identify appropriate solutions underscores his ability to gain meaningful insight and follow up with thorough and compressive analysis. Having served in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Downes is skilled at group facilitation and enjoys forging consensus among people with diverging ideas and opinions into a laser like focus that speaks for all.

Mr. Downes began his financial career as an assistant propriety trader when markets still traded in fractions. He then moved on to manage the institutional trading desk for National Discount Brokerage, then the largest discount brokerage firm in the country. After NDB was acquired by a large bank, Mr. Downes spent short stints at a few small to mid-sized broker dealers. He found a home at APB Financial Group LLC, where he would later purchase a sixty percent stake in the firm, taking on the role as CEO. After 5 years as CEO, he sold his  ownership to the original founder to pursue further entrepreneurial, philanthropic and mentoring opportunities.

Mr. Downes founded Tee 2 Green Golf Academy in 2004 to provide inner city youth the opportunity to participate in a sport often considered beyond their reach.  He served as a mentor for NASP-NY helping high school students learn about capital markets, job interviews, college applications, etc. and helped to alleviate their fears of what's next.

Quintano holds a B.S in Business from Medgar Evers College. Studied at Columbia University in their Street Wise M.B.A program for small business owners in Harlem NY.
